A spinner is easiest on smooth terminal floors and can stay upright beside you; a two-wheel case often tracks better over curbs and rough pavement and may devote more of its height to packing space. Compare the entire route, not wheel count alone.

No material wins every design. Nylon and polyester can make very light softside cases; polypropylene and advanced woven thermoplastics can make exceptionally light hardsides; polycarbonate often balances flex and protection. Finished suitcase weight depends on the frame, wheels, handle and interior as much as the shell.

A useful lightweight checked suitcase usually weighs materially less than comparable cases in its size while retaining dependable wheels, handles and closures. Medium cases around 7–9 pounds and many large cases around 8–11 pounds are reasonable comparison bands, not guarantees or airline rules.
